Ground Pounder Radiator Shroud for VTX1800

Designed by Xtreme Revolution, this cool radiator shroud covers the radiator and provides an aggressive chin spoiler that makes the VTX look closer to the ground – giving it more of a “slammed” appearance.

Installation of this part requires the radiator to be relocated approximately 2 inches lower. The kit includes all the necessary hardware to accomplish this.

(Photos show the Ground Pounder with custom paint.)

Installation Instructions

Note: The Ground Pounder does not fit the VTX1800 Retro with a stock front fender. It can be used on a Retro only if you have replaced the front fender with a tire-hugging style like the Undertaker, Gambler, Spartan, etc.

This item only fits 2002-2004 VTX 1800's.  Honda changed the size of the radiator in 2005 making it larger.

Grille material is a honeycomb mesh, not the horizontal bars as shown in the photo although the photo is not highly detailed. Grill Mesh is held in with screws through the exterior of the shroud which will show unles an alternate method of grille attchment is devised or the grille is replace with higher quality (and that wouldn"t take much) material. Disappointing considering the price. I"ll keep it and work it over to make it pretty. I estimate this delays my build at least 3 days. Definitely not for the neophyte.

Had to fill in holes from screws that hold in the grill. For the cost, I'm sure that there is a better alternative. Installation could also be made simpler.

  1. Why can't I get the Xtreme Revolution Ground Pounder for my 2006 VTX 1800?
Q: Why can't I get the Xtreme Revolution Ground Pounder for my 2006 VTX 1800?
A: Honda redesigned the VTX1800 radiator in 2005. They made it quite a bit wider, and the ground pounder will not fit. We have not redesigned the Ground Pounder to fit the larger radiator because we feel it would not look very good if it was any wider than the frame rails.
